Meet our new CEO – we welcome Patrick Höijer to Precise Biometrics

Congratulations on being appointed as CEO at Precise Biometrics. Please can you tell us a little about yourself and your background?

Throughout my career I’ve always been active in the B2B area, working for companies with solid SaaS business models and a strong growth focus. Since 2015, I’ve held leading roles at the leading European payment solution company Nets Group (now Nexi Group). Most recently, my role was Chief Commercial Officer of Large and Key Accounts including the DACH region, the Nordics and the Baltics, and Chief Executive Officer of Nets Sweden.

I started my professional career at E.ON Group, starting as a management trainee and working my way up to be Sales and Marketing Director of E.ON Broadband. When the company was subsequently sold to Tele2 I continued my career journey there heading up the Wholesale department, the Small and Medium Business area, and finally as Product Marketing Director B2B. Looking slightly further back, I also had some great shorter assignments after university as a Business Journalist for Reuters and for Business Sweden in the US.

What attracted you to Precise Biometrics and what are you most looking forward to in the coming weeks and months?

Precise is a well-managed company, with an underlying strong business, active in a very interesting industry, so it naturally attracted me. The possibilities within biometric access and identification are still developing and as the business models mature, I strongly believe that Precise has an important role to play.

Of course, what I’m really looking forward to is understanding the needs of our customers and partners as well as getting to know the Precise team further.

What important experiences have brought you to where you are today?

Understanding that success comes through true commitment, genuine business focus, and strong teamwork.

What are you most proud of in your career to date?

I am of course very proud of the strong value creation shaped for both shareholders and customers at Nets and Tele2. Beyond that I am especially proud of building strong industry leading teams throughout my career that were proactive, innovative, and able to embrace learning.

The biometrics industry is incredibly vibrant and exciting at the moment. What do you find awe-inspiring in the industry?

For me, it’s the fact that the industry is still progressing and developing. Ongoing technical achievements, meeting people’s eagerness and the need for simplicity along with the need for adequate regulations, this all creates strong opportunities. As all parts of society becomes increasingly digitalized we need secure, safe, reliant and simple solutions to ensure we can identify ourselves correctly whatever the environment.

What inspires you to get up each morning?

Creating a clear vision together with a strong team. Then everyday we’ll work together to make sure we accomplish it.

Finally, how do you like to unwind?

Well, a few years ago I would say that I love to travel. Due to obvious reasons, there’s been less of that in recent years. So instead, I’ve been focused on a lot of sports activities such as padel and tennis. I’m also a lucky father of three wonderful daughters who make sure my personal time is kept occupied!
