Precise Biometrics Announces First Tactivo™ Purchase Orders and Pilot Projects Across Several U.S. Federal Government Agencies.

Precise Biometrics, an innovation leader in providing authentication solutions, and developer of Tactivo, a smart casing that provides both smart card and fingerprint authentication to mobile devices, announced today they have received their first U.S. Government related purchase orders and are starting off multiple pilot projects across several U.S. Federal Government military and civilian agencies.

It is a firm requirement that every federal government employee be issued a smart card credential to be used for identification and access to federal buildings and networks. With the current migration from desktop computers to mobile devices, federal agencies are facing a new challenge: how to apply the same authentication requirements to mobile devices that employees are already required to use on their desktops. Tactivo solves this issue by providing a smart card reader and fingerprint sensor to the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S, and coming soon, the iPad.

The BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) trend is as valid in government workplaces as it is in commercial enterprises. With this trend comes an extensive demand for stronger security solutions. Tactivo provides a comprehensive solution to the challenges of authentication and security in an increasingly mobile world. Tactivo's fingerprint biometrics functionality elegantly combines increased end-user convenience and personalized security.

"We are excited to see these first orders and pilot projects get underway so widely within the U.S. Federal Government market. Our breakthrough solution will enable the migration to mobile devices while preserving the necessary security and authentication policies that are required by HSPD-12 (Homeland Security Presidential Directive). Because the mandate covers all federal employees, we expect other agencies will also consider deploying Tactivo after seeing the success of these first pilot programs" says Thomas Marschall, CEO of Precise Biometrics.

Precise Biometrics expects more pilot programs to commence soon, and upon successful completion, that Tactivo will be approved for use in these federal agencies for widespread deployment. Precise Biometrics anticipates receiving larger purchase orders upon successful completion of these pilot programs. The financial effects of these initial orders is expected to start in late Q3 and in Q4 of 2012, and to increase substantially in 2013 and beyond with continued and expanded deployments across agencies.
