Precise fingerprint technology integrated in next generation fingerprint sensor from Qualcomm

Precise’s software for fingerprint recognition in mobile devices, Precise BioMatch® Mobile, has been integrated in the next generation in-display ultrasound fingerprint sensor, Qualcomm® 3D Sonic Gen 2, as well as the Qualcomm® 3D Sonic Max, which was previously announced at the Snapdragon Tech Summit in December 2019. Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max was recently awarded at the CES show 2021.

“We are pleased to provide our software for fingerprint recognition on devices enabled by ultrasonic fingerprint sensors from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. We look forward to continuing working closely with Qualcomm Technologies with the aim to achieve design wins for flagship mobile devices”, said Stefan K. Persson, CEO at Precise.

Qualcomm 3D Sonic Gen 2 is Qualcomm Technologies’ latest generation ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It is 50% faster and 77% larger than the previous generation. Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max is the company’s large area ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It is the largest and thinnest commercially available fingerprint sensor with an active area of 600mm2 allowing for best-in-class user experience and security with multiple simultaneous finger matching and single tap finger registrations for in-display fingerprint sensing applications on mobile devices.

In addition to the integration, Precise will provide its latest liveness solution, fully integrated with the BioMatch Mobile matcher algorithms to secure protection against fingerprint spoofs.

Mobile devices with Qualcomm 3D Sonic Gen-2 and Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max, both integrated with Precise’s software, are expected to be available later this year.
